The Specific Solar Date (SSD), is an experimental concept of time, similar to the real life Julian Date. It is given to the 5th decimal, the hundred thousandth.

How to Calculate It

All you need to know is the current time to the minute. You use the simple formula:

SD + (h*60+m)/14400

For example, on SD 103.1, at 5:32 UTC, the SSD will be 103.12305.

103.1 + (5*60+32)/14400
103.1 + (300+32)/14400
103.1 + 332/14400
103.1 + .0230556...
